My baby is GROWING!

All smiles with her tag blanket and her hand!
It's so amazing how quickly babies grow.  Dee Dee is almost 8...and it feels like just yesterday she was born.  I had forgotten how quickly it has flown by me.  Khloe was here 5 weeks early.  Sometimes I wish I could get those 5 weeks back.  She will be 15 weeks on Sunday..I often think as Sundays approach "well she really should only be (insert 5 weeks previous number here)...she has gotten so BIG!  Funny how she is really starting to notice things now.  My phone will ring and startle her, when just a few weeks ago she didn't notice it, or she will run her hand up and down over my zipper on my sweatshirt in amazement, with an inquisitive look on her face.  Everything is so NEW to her!  She has found 2 new best friends in the form of her hands.  You know shes awake if you hear a sucking noise, sometimes 1 whole hand is in there..sometimes she attempts to put 2 in there.  But rarely will you find here without at least one in there!  She also is learning to use those hands of hers...reaching out to bat at her toys...or exploring her tag blanket....or the texture of the couch...everything is so FUN!  She is also VERY chatty...she will have a full conversation with you, and she looks so serious while doing it.  Let us all prepare for Dee Dee #2...possibly the most talkitive child ever!  Not sure if it will be possible for Khloe to be more talkitive then Dee was (IS!), but I have a feeling Khloe will try!  Khloe is extremely happy when we first get up...she will give me a huge grin the moment she realizes I too, am awake!  Then she will start chatting and giving me a million more toothless smiles.  I usually prop her up on a pillow while I use the restroom, and by the time I get back she has kicked her legs in excitment so much she will be halfway down the bed...those days are numbered....foe me leaving her for a moment anyway...kiss your kids...they will be grown up before you know it...enjoy every moment you have with them!

Slacking on my blog!

I have been a serious slacker when it comes to blogging!  I had it in my mind I would blog daily, well that is just not happening!  Khloe is awake alot more, and needs to be entertained!  Before I would go online while she napped...but those days are over!  Naps are getting farther apart, and when she does nap I am generally rushing to get a shower, or clean the house, or do laundry!  A momma never rests!  She is however on a pretty good schedule, which I am ecstatic about!  We wake up at around 9-9:30...she is posted up on the couch with a couple toys while I get some breakfast...then I get her things together for her bath....bathtime is next...then getting lotioned up and dressed for the day...read a couple books and then our day kind of varies from day to day, with 2 good naps...and 2 shorter naps...then we head to bed at 10-10:30...may seem late to some of you, but I prefer to sleep in-sooo NOT a morning person!  Jesse gets Dee Dee up for school every morning and takes her on his way to work...I pick her up at 2!  We did venture out into the backyard last weekend....we had a beautiful day!  Khloe fell asleep in the sun after 5 minutes...HA!  I need to get one of those screen beach houses for babies to keep the sun off her!  Dee tans within 5 minutes of being in the sun, and I am assuming Khloe will be the same...but better safe then sorry!  Me on the otherhand will burn up to a crisp if I don't do it gradually...and even then I don't get super tan ever...booo for the Irish in me...hee hee!!  I will attempt to blog more....hopefully someone is out there listening!  :0)

Sick little girl...

(my sick girl coloring)
Poor little Dee Dee is sick.  I got a call from school Wednesday morning at around 10 am that she was running a 100.8 fever and needed to be picked up immediatly.  So lazy Khloe and I had to rush over to school in our pj's.  My ear had been bugging me so we were honestly still in bed, when they called.  Felt like a mommy who doesn't take care of her baby, as Khloe had to go out in public in her pj's...she is always very fashionable when we go out and about...but on this day Dee Dee was more important than our look!  So we rush in, me in my big sunglasses (hey..I had no make-up on!  HELLO hollywood..heee hee) , hair in a bun, and sweats and a sweatshirt (at least I threw on a bra!)  and poor stinky Khloe in her pj's.  My big baby walks out and my heart dropped...she looked HORRIBLE!  I hugged her and we were on our way (after confessing to the office ladies the baby and I were not showered, and we were sorry about that lol)...we went to Rite Aide where I picked up some tylenol, soup, and Sierra Mist, and we went home.  Dee Dee went to sleep right away....that's a great way to tell that your alomost 8 year old is really sick, they sleep!  Couple hours she wakes up and is ON FIRE...take her temp and it is up to 102, give her more Tylenol and she goes back to sleep.  Next thing she wakes up at around 4 and her cheeks are bright red and she is soaking in sweat, take her temp....OH CRAP!  103.9!  I freaked out!  Called the doc and said we are coming in!  We rushed over and they swabbed her for Strep Throat...and perscribed her with antibiotics, and some Ibiprophin(sp?!)  and we were on our way.  I forced her to eat a couple bites of food and she was asleep again.  Fought with the fever somemore Thursday...and today she seems to be doing much better!  The doctor called today saying the test confirmes she does indeed have strep.  She is feeling a ton better, but her throat is still hurting.  I'm glad my baby is doing better!  (Wednesday night I went to urgent care myself, I have an inner ear infection and my eardrum was swollen almost all the way shut...yikes)

Rain Rain go AWAY! We are ready to PLAY!

(This is a pic taken by Dee Dee of some of our backyard flowers)
I cannot wait for the weather to get better!  I want to take Khloe outside to explore things in the backyard.  It is always so rainy and soggy, but I guess that's Oregon for you!  I am so excited for the summer time to get her in a little swimsuit and get in the pool.  She LOVES the water, she seems so calm during bathtime!  I have enjoyed the few nice sunny days we have had, and went with the girls on some walks around the neighborhood.  The neighbors are so friendly, calling out "Hello" etc. to us, how nice!  I think I need to start being a little more friendly to strangers...something for me to think about....

As I Watch You Grow

© Kay Theese

Do you know how much you mean to me?

As you grow into what you will be.

You came from within, from just beneath my heart

it's there you'll always be though your own life will now start.

You're growing so fast it sends me awhirl,

With misty eyes I ask, Where's my little girl?

I know sometimes to you I seem harsh and so unfair,

But one day you will see, I taught you well because I care.

The next few years will so quickly fly,

With laughter and joy, mixed with a few tears to cry.

As you begin your growth to womanhood, this fact you must know,

You'll always be my source of pride, no matter where you go.

You must stand up tall and proud, within you feel no fear,

For all you dreams and goals, sit before you very near.

With god's love in your heart and the world by its tail,

You'll always be my winner, and victory will prevail.

For you this poem was written, with help from above,

To tell you in a rhythm of your Mother's heartfelt Love!

My oldest babygirl...

Dannielle Aniya Campbell came into my life on June 2oth 2002.  I went to the hosptial at 5:00 am on the 19th of June to be induced, because I was 2 weeks past my duedate!  Should of known I was in for a rough day, because I went to check in and the had no record that I was to be induced that day!  They admited me anyway and we got all setteled in.  Everything started off fine and as the day progressed so did my contractions!  After awhile they became unberable, and they gave me an epidural.  OH RELIEF!  About 30 minutes later I started to feel the pain again....stupid thing didn't take!  They came in and gave me another...didn't take either..HORRIBLE PAIN!  Labor is no joke!  Finally it's time to push...I proceed to try to get her out for 3 HOURS!  But she would not come out, her head would come out, then pop back in.  The docs then decided I needed to get a c-section because her heartbeat kept dropping.  In I went, and a little bit later, out came my baby!  Wait!  Why is she not crying?!  I yell out "Is she ok?  Why isn't she crying?"  Then they put me out.  Next thing I remember is being rolled back to my room and seeing my ex and my mom looking clearly upset!  Apparently the cord had been wrapped around the babies neck 3 TIMES!  She was very close to dying!  The whole hospital staff called her "The miracle baby" .  I will never forget when they brought her into me for the first time, her eyes were open and we just stared at each other.  She was BEAUTIFUL!  Her eyes were so dark they were black.  And boy oh boy was she WHITE!  LOL!!  She was a really good baby, but was very attached to me, I had to learn to cook and clean with a baby atached at my hip!  She was such a loving baby too.  As she has grown she has been such a joy in my life.  She is a good girl.  She is a loving girl.  She is a chatty girl (from the moment she could talk, she did so from sun up to sundown!).  She is a kind girl.  She is a sensitive girl (I took her to see the movie Charlotte's Web, the real version, not the cartoon, and she sobbed when Charlotte died).  She is a girly girl (when I signed her up for soccer when she was 4, she came out for practice with a pink feather boa tied around her waist).  She is a shy girl.  She is a funny girl.  She loves to sing and dance.  She is very artistic.  She loves to read.  She is my daughter, and boy do I love her.  Never knew what unconditional love was, until June 2oth at 12:11 am, when this wonderful girl, entered my life!
